Juggling Schedules.

I tried to get out this past weekend for my next lesson, (Instruments) but my instructor was booked. He was either flying or he was out with another student. When I spoke to him last week I asked him to give me a call even if it was last minute in case someone cancelled.

Alas, no calls.

I'll give him a call tomorrow morning and see how these week looks for an after work lesson. The weather is suppose to be sunny all week.

I'll keep you posted.

Hi.

Just checked out your site for the first time. Loved your pictures of PEI. Are you working on your instrument ticket currently ?

Actually I'm finishing up my Private pilots licence (VFR). My next two lessons with my instructor will be on instruments.

During these lessons I'll wear a pair of foggles, basically glasses that keep me from seeing outside. I'll have to do a varity of things such as turns, climbs and recoveries from unusual attitudes.

Even though I'm working on my PPL VFR, this porting of my VFR training ensures that in the event that I fly into a cloud etc., I'll have enough training to get back out safely.

Have fun! I'm just finishing up my instrument rating and have spent what feels like the last million years under the foggles. It's great confidence booster.

Last weekend I went out and did some stalls, unusual attitude recoveries and a bunch of slow flight, all under the hood. Then, repeated the same with both the attitude indicator and DG covered as well. It's great knowing how to do this but I do miss looking out the window, especially now when all the leaves here in New England are changing color.

Good luck in finishing up!
